dfcu Bank rewards winning Journalists in the Media Bounce Back challenge

dfcu Bank has announced and awarded journalists that took part in its media bounce back challenge that was one of the key elements of the bank’s loans products ‘Bounce Back campaign’ aimed at giving customers a boost at getting back on track following the upset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The bank tasked journalists to take part in the media challenge by simply submitting short stories on challenges faced in 2020 on account of the pandemic and how they propose to bounce back in 2021. This promotion was intended to encourage journalists to explore the possibilities of the new year despite the challenges they may have faced.

After rigorous review and evaluation, dfcu Bank selected 5 lucky journalists from various media houses who were able to meet all the set criteria. Each journalist was awarded with UGX 1 million. The journalists that emerged winners include; Sam Wasswa – Chimp Reports, Pauline Bangirana – Monitor, Charles Sendagire – NBS TV, Arafat Nzito – Chimp Reports, and Linda Ndiwumwami – NBS TV.

Speaking during the handover, dfcu Bank’s Head of Marketing, Jude Kansiime said; “As dfcu Bank, we recognize and celebrate the resilience of our media partners and we decided to support them in their recovery process. We believe that for the winners of this media challenge, some of the effects brought about by the impact of COVID-19 can be eased. We continue to hold a good and strong working relationship with the media fraternity, and we hope that we can grow together as a business.”

In February, dfcu Bank launched a campaign that would benefit individuals and customers with access to affordable and unsecured loan products enabling them to better manage the impact of COVID-19. Customers were able to access “Personal Unsecured Loans” of up to UGX 250,000,000 within 24 hours without having to put up the security normally expected of borrowers. Small businesses were able to apply for the dfcu Baraka Business Loan’ between UGX 2 million and UGX 30 million with flexible security requirements and access funding within 48 hours.

The campaign that came to a close this month also saw twenty-five (25) lucky customers from different parts of the country have their loans taken out during the campaign period cleared by dfcu.
