Regional Enterprise Portfolio Manager- Western Region (1 Position)

Reporting to the Head-Enterprise Banking, the role holder will be responsible for driving regional business growth within the Enterprise Banking segment. The role involves analysing regional opportunities, maximizing ecosystem potential according to sectors, facilitating sales enhancements, developing product mixes for the region, maintaining a good portfolio quality, and overseeing the sales performance of Business Bankers against established targets. The primary objective is to contribute to the overall expansion and success of the enterprise banking segment by strategically identifying and capitalizing on growth opportunities.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Identify and assess regional opportunities to drive business growth within enterprise banking, WIB, Investment Clubs & Saccos, Agric and the bank’s Focus Sectors.
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to expand the bank’s presence in the regions.
  • Maximize opportunities within the ecosystem, aligning strategies within the bank’s focus sectors.
  • Foster collaborations and partnerships that enhance the bank’s position in the enterprise banking segment for the region.
  • Work closely with Business Bankers to enhance sales strategies and methodologies.
  • Provide guidance and support to Business Bankers to achieve and exceed set targets.
  • Carry out sales visits to existing & potential top regional clients, identify sales leads and deal closure for all opportunities identified in the region.
  • Analyze market trends and customer needs to contribute to the development of a diversified and competitive product mix with focus on regional requirements.
  • Collaborate with product development teams to introduce innovative solutions tailored to enterprise clients in the region.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of Business Bankers against sales targets.
  • Implement corrective actions and initiatives to ensure continuous improvement and goal attainment.
  • Conduct regular sales meetings to address goals and progress to date and a review of individual performance.
  • Conduct thorough market analyses to identify trends, opportunities, and potential threats for the region.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on market intelligence.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act as a representative of the bank at events and forums that Focus on Enterprise Banking.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans aligned with the overall objectives of the enterprise banking segment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless implementation of strategies.
  • Enhance training on customer service and selling skills among Business Bankers & Branch network.
  • Carry out any other duties as may be assigned by management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • A Business Degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, management.
  • Possession of a Certified banking qualification or master’s degree in a relevant field would be an added advantage.
  • Relevant training in business growth in the financial services sector
  • Must have critical thinking, analytical, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Banking or similar environment of which 3 must be in a Sales, Schemes and People management function.
  • Must have an in-depth understanding of Enterprise Banking product features, pricing, benefits, positioning, design, and promotions.
  • Advanced, computer literacy, numerical skills, and statistical skills.
  • Interpersonal relationship skills, Assertive, “self-starter” personality that is energetic and a natural net worker.
  • Team-oriented attitude to help end users with technical problems.
