Bank Managing Director, Juma Kisaame at the closing of a three month
Business Planning training for Ugandan business women which aimed at
strengthening local women-owned small and medium enterprises.
The training which is part of dfcu’s Women in Business program was conducted in partnership with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), World Bank & Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU). Kisaame reiterated dfcu’s commitment to help unleash the potential of local entrepreneurship which he said is crucial to helping women transform their socio-economic status, strengthen private sector development and contribute to the country’s economic progress. “This programme has provided women in business with the platform to receive training highly relevant to their business needs and to network and share knowledge”, he added.
The training, themed
"Business Planning for Women-owned Growth Oriented Enterprises in
Africa," is designed to enhance local women entrepreneurs’ competitiveness
through better approaches to finance and marketing while responding to their
specific training needs.
